I was hunting high & low around Cusco for a place to learn Spanish as I acclimatised to the altitude before walking Macchu Picchu. Amigos was the only choice for me - non-profit & community focused. The professionalism & quality of both the teaching & the foundation itself, was outstanding . I especially loved the time I got to spend with Nohely (student) where we practised with one another - a great concept. Every now and then something happens which changes your life. Amigos is in my heart & head & one day, I will return to give something back to Cusco.

I had a great time at Amigos. It was wonderful to meet the children at Amigos and to spend time with them. They told me some good legends and we went places I otherwise wouldn't have thought of. The teachers were also fun and knowledgeable. They taught me some good Peruvian slang. I enjoyed my home stay very much as well. I miss everybody at Amigos and hope to return one day for a visit. Peru was my favorite country in South America mostly because of my experience in Cuzco with Amigos.

When I stayed in Cusco 4 years ago, I enjoyed every minute being at Amigos' school, in particular talking to the children. My teacher was great, I learnt a lot. And the concept of Amigos is fantastic, I think! Muchas gracias por los todos.

I arrived in Cusco in May of 2003. I wanted to learn more Spanish before embarking on four months of travel through Peru, Bolivia and Argentina so looked around for schools and information on schools. My friend Sean and I signed up at Amigos as soon as we realized how much they give back to the community… unlike other schools that are foreign run and the funds don’t go to improving the community. Sean did one week and then left to explore the jungles of Bolivia while I stayed for four weeks… thoroughly enjoying every minute of the classes I took. Merly and Adolfo were my teachers, and they did an exquisite job of teaching me the language. The atmosphere of Amigos was the biggest part of keeping me there for 4 weeks of classes. It was not the feeling of school… but the feeling of family, love and real friendship. My time at Amigos shaped the rest of my trip, by helping me with the language and also with the start of new friendships.
